Even though this plant has Cactus in the name, it is actually a part of the succulent group! They are soft-stemmed succulents with no thorns. Starfish flower cactus may produce amazing five-petaled flowers but that flower exudes a rather unpleasant odor.

Fun fact: The scent attracts flies and other insects, which pollinate the blooms. If you have a fruit fly infestation or another pest, try moving this near the infestation. The insects are drawn to the stench and sit mesmerized on the flower unable to move!
