Thanksgiving Cactus (Schlumbergera truncata)

Often confused with the "Christmas Cactus" (Schlumbergera bridgesii) the Thanksgiving Cactus (Schlumbergera truncata) has pointy leaves as opposed to the bridgesii which has more rounded leaves that are more similar to the Easter Cactus (Schlumbergera gaertneri). Holiday cacti are not true "cacti" as they are an Epiphyte that grow on top of trees and other plants in the mountainous rainforests of Brasil. Their native climate is high altitude and lots of humidity. Bloom period is November-January.
